Low GI

Not all carbohydrates are created equal. Every type of carb you eat has a different effect on your blood sugar. Since the crux of Diabetes lies in the way your body deals with the sugar in your blood, it’s logical that using the right kind of carbs could assist you in managing your diabetes.

A new study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association showed that people with type 2 diabetes who ate a low-glycemic-index diet had greater blood sugar control and fewer heart disease risk factors than those who followed another eating plan.

Being diabetic doesn’t mean the end of eating tasty food - it simply means you have to be smarter about what you eat. Knowing your GI values is a good way to manage a diet that will keep diabetic symptoms at bay. And even if you aren’t diabetic, a LOW GI diet will help you fight fatigue and keep your energy reserves in check.
